Utah leads in many arenas of dark sky protection and awareness. Academic study of dark skies is yet another place of pioneering Utahns passionate about dark skies. Dark Sky Studies, a minor program at the University of Utah, is an emerging transdisciplinary field that explores the impact of artificial light at night and the loss of our night skies through a range of disciplines.

Join Daniel Mendoza, assistant professor and Dark Sky Studies Minor Program Coordinator, and Anil Seth, associate professor of physics and astronomy, to learn about this one-of-a-kind program and the impressive activities of its students.
